Happy September!

Autumn is my favorite season, and now that’s it’s officially September, I feel ready to start rolling out some seasonal designs! The only fall festivities in my life are going to happen on my nails, since there are no seasons here on the equator. If I wore a sweater, I’d probably melt into a glittery puddle on the sidewalk.

I took a trip back to the US for summer holiday, and the Halloween stuff was already out. In late July. I love Halloween, but that was too much even for me! I sincerely hope that there is no Christmas stuff out yet, but I am sure some stores are already getting ready. What’s wrong with enjoying the seasons as they come?

OK, cranky old lady rant aside, here’s some of the fall goodies I’ve been working on.

When I went back to the US, I got some indie polishes from Etsy that I’m excited to show you! I have been kicking myself in the butt for not getting in on the indie nail polish trend and making my own line of custom polishes, but I had to remind myself that I was living on an island, so the only way to get nail polish out was by sea, which takes forever. (Yes, nail polish is legally banned in airmail shipments. It seems a bit silly, but them’s the rules and the fines are tremendous if you get caught.)

So for now, I’m enjoying the (imaginary) fall and thinking about some seasonal designs.  I’m headed off to Japan in early November for the Tokyo Nail Show and hoping to find some fantastic inspiration there. I’ll be covering the event, as I have for the last few years, and I’m really looking forward to this year’s Nail Art Contest. I’m not leaking the theme just yet, but I’m sure it will be interesting as always!

About nevertoomuchglitter

Nail artist. Wanderer. I'm a color-holic, in fact, it was my love of color that brought me to the nail art world. Well, that, and the fact I was too cheap to pay crazy Japanese prices for nail polish while living in Tokyo, so I had to start mixing my own. That's how NTMG began.
