Aargh! The Air Conditioner Doesn’t Fit!

The $400 air conditioner doesn’t fit. Dang. It looks like we’re going to have to wedge it in, and then tape around it with cardboard and duct tape. Classy. I really really hope it doesn’t fall out onto the balcony and go ka-plat. The window frame doesn’t even remotely fit.

The other choice was to install the wall-mounted AC unit, cut a hole in the wall for the ventilator tube,  get the fan box installed on the balcony, and then take it all out when we leave. It was a lot more expensive than the little window unit we bought. Cardboard and duct-tape for the win!

I need A/C…the Japanese summer is getting hotter and hotter.  Whew!

About nevertoomuchglitter

Nail artist. Wanderer. I'm a color-holic, in fact, it was my love of color that brought me to the nail art world. Well, that, and the fact I was too cheap to pay crazy Japanese prices for nail polish while living in Tokyo, so I had to start mixing my own. That's how NTMG began.

Thanks Anne! Duct tape and cardboard for the win! Our jerry-rigged A/C installation is not going to make House Beautiful magazine this month, but I do have House Cooled!

What a mess! Hope between the two of you it will get in quickly. Here’s praying that you have cool air soon.

Thanks Lucy! Prayers answered! It’s pretty wacked out, but with enough duct tape, it’s staying in place and blowing out cold air! Joy!
