Hello everyone, I am up in the mountains in Japan for a few days, so I thought I would show you some frankens I did earlier.

I have a thing for monsters and sea creatures, and today’s color is what I imagine the Loch Ness Monster would be.  It’s a dirty teal with microglitter and a blue iridescent shimmer.

This is 1/3 each of three easy to get polishes: China Glaze Shower Together, a slightly muted medium teal creme, Orly Sky Blue Pink, a miky light blue translucent with pink flash, and OPI DS Shimmer, a silver holo microglitter. Any silver holo will do- China Glaze, Orly, etc. I just had the DS Shimmer closest to hand.

About nevertoomuchglitter

Nail artist. Wanderer. I'm a color-holic, in fact, it was my love of color that brought me to the nail art world. Well, that, and the fact I was too cheap to pay crazy Japanese prices for nail polish while living in Tokyo, so I had to start mixing my own. That's how NTMG began.

I like this one. Even though it’s named after a sea creature monster, Nessie is a nickname I go by. I might just pretend you named it after me instead of a mythical nasty yucky monster! j/k!

Nice! I think you’ve captured the idea perfectly, and I love the glitter to make it look like it’s shimmering in water.

I like how you are inspired by intangible thoughts and ideas for the colors. This one translated very well. Kudos! 🙂

  4. Elisa says:

Interesting title! Reminds me of the Twilight series. I’ll stop here just in case you haven’t read it or else I might spoil it for you 🙂

Beautiful shade of blue! Really gorgeous!

  5. Katie says:

How can you make such beautiful colours???I mean they are so unique…I’m overwhelmed!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Nessa, I….u,m, yes, this was named after you! 😉

I always thought my vivid imagination was kind of strange, but at least it gives me a lot of ideas for color names! I’m working on not staring at people’s nails, etc. when I see an intriguing color and blurting out “That reminds me of _______(insert odd random noun here). But if I was perfectly normal, I’d be wearing one of those Essie wimpy pinks. Not to pick on them, but for a company that’s “obsessed with color,” they have a ridiculous amount of sheer pinks/nudes.
