Japanese Valentine Nail Art

On my nails is the Chinese/Japanese character for “love,” pronounced as “ai” (eye). I thought it was a nice touch, considering I am in Japan and all.

This pink is my OPI Affair in Red Square added to white creme. It’s a medium pink shimmer, really easy to do. I used the Konad to stamp the character and added some glitter, a flower decal or too and dots and hearts.

Please excuse the black smudges and glitter on my cuticles. I was doing a bunch of different frankens tonight!

About nevertoomuchglitter

Nail artist. Wanderer. I'm a color-holic, in fact, it was my love of color that brought me to the nail art world. Well, that, and the fact I was too cheap to pay crazy Japanese prices for nail polish while living in Tokyo, so I had to start mixing my own. That's how NTMG began.

  1. oooo, this one looks very professional! Just like those pre-designed fake nails that they sell. This one is gorgous, two thumbs up from me!

Thanks everyone! I thought these were a little tacky, but pretty much all Japanese nail art is tacky! I wanted some good old-fashioned “look at these!” nails. Sometimes I just like a simple creme finish, but other times…well, I guess that’s why the Konad was invented!
