Happy New Year 2009!

Well, we had a dull flight from New York to Tokyo- not that I’m complaining. Exciting flights are not good news. Got back home at 8PM, have to be at work 8AM next morning, and have jet lag as usual.

My apartment is still not unpacked, my furniture is not assembled, and I was probably many bottles over the customs limit for nail polish. I checked and it said you were allowed to bring in a “reasonable amount for personal use.” LOL. I did split the stash and made my guy carry half. I was afraid I’d get a baggage handler who loved polish and my carefully selected shades would have been snatched. Then I realized that most people are not deranged polish fiends.

Finds: 12 bottles of Sally Hansen’s duochomes for 3.99 at Christmas Tree Shops. It’s where makeup goes to die in Connecticut. Unfortunately, many of the packages were opened. They were in a clear bag, too. I got three bags, so that’s 36 bottles and a lot of duplicates but now I can franken without fear of running out. These are old- like I remember last seeing them when I was in high school 11 years ago or so. Wait- I graduated from high school 12 YEARS ago….yikes. I was glad to leave those days behind but it’s been longer than I realized.

Anyway, I do have a LOT of polish and glitter to franken with. I want to do a few posts today after I get home from work. I am thinking of making my guy unpack so I can do a post. I’ve been itching to update but we had no Internet, incompatible card readers, and a camera that decided to stop focusing for no reason at all. But I’m back with my computer and my camera and I have a few fun things for all of you!

Oh, and Happy New Year of course!

About nevertoomuchglitter

Nail artist. Wanderer. I'm a color-holic, in fact, it was my love of color that brought me to the nail art world. Well, that, and the fact I was too cheap to pay crazy Japanese prices for nail polish while living in Tokyo, so I had to start mixing my own. That's how NTMG began.

Thank you so much! I got some of that glitter that you showed me, and I can’t wait to do a few frankens this weekend! I mean, why unpack and re-assemble my furniture when there are new polishes to be frankened?
